JACKSON- State Auditor Stacey Pickering announced the arrest of Alesa Warner, former employee of the Town of Marion, on charges of embezzlement.

Warner, 30, of Lauderdale County, was arrested today by agents with the State Auditor’s Office and the Town of Marion Police Department.

Warner was an employee of the Town of Marion from December 1, 2007 – February 14, 2008. The embezzlement was a $921.27 check issued to Warner.

“The State Auditor’s Office is committed to bringing individuals to justice that have embezzled from our local governments,” said State Auditor Stacey Pickering. “I appreciate the cooperative effort by the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department in this case and am proud of the work done by the investigators in the State Auditor’s Office.”

Warner’s bond was set at $5,000.
