JACKSON- State Auditor Stacey Pickering was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the National State Auditors Association (NSAA) last week during its 2013 Annual Conference in Monterey, California.

The six-member Executive Committee serves as the governing body of NSAA.

“It is an honor to be elected to the Executive Committee of the National State Auditors Association,” said State Auditor Stacey Pickering. “Through this association, I will work with other State Auditors in helping to strengthen accounting practices while continuing to identify waste, fraud and abuse across our nation.”

The organization unites State Auditors across the country. NSAA also works to foster improvement in state government though promotion of the observance of professional auditing standards, improving management control and accountability, and developing generally accepted principles of accounting.
