Auditor Pickering Announces Indictment of Vince Falconi for Embezzlement

JACKSON- Former Mississippi Alcohol and Beverage Control employee Vince Falconi has been indicted on the charge of embezzlement.

The complaint alleged that Falconi took cash payments for selling inventory belonging to MS A.B.C. and did not deposit the money into the Alcohol and Beverage Control account. Falconi, 57, of Rankin County, turned himself into authorities in Madison County.

The investigation was opened in 2007 and examined events from June 2006 and October 2007. Funds embezzled total $2,442.00. Interest represents $483.79 and the investigative expenses totaled $1,716.28 bringing the total amount to be repaid to $4,642.07.

“I appreciate the work of our investigators in bringing this indictment,” said State Auditor Stacey Pickering. “I am committed to protecting the assets of Mississippi taxpayers and bringing anyone embezzling funds to justice.”
