JACKSON- State Auditor Stacey Pickering spoke to members of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce during their monthly lunch meeting on Thursday.

His remarks included an update on the legislative special session, role of the State Auditor’s Office in state and local government and the important role played by small businesses in Mississippi’s economic future.

“Local businesses play such an important role in the future of our state,” said State Auditor Stacey Pickering. “We must get involved in our educational system in Mississippi and encourage high school diplomas, college degrees and continued involvement in our local communities. It is the most important thing we can do to move Mississippi forward. I truly believe this is the best time to be a Mississippian.”
