JACKSON, Miss. – On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, Special Agents from the Office of the State Auditor (OSA) arrested Pontotoc City Park and Recreation Special Events Coordinator Michelle Boone on the charge of embezzlement. OSA then issued a demand of $15,153.21 to Boone, which covered the loss, interest, and the cost of recovery.

Based upon the evidence developed in this investigation, Boone failed to deposit all funds collected by the Pontotoc City Park and Recreation from January 2015 through March 2016.

State Auditor Stacey Pickering said, “Our office will work to recover these funds as quickly as possible on behalf of the citizens of the city of Pontotoc.”
