JACKSON- Bill Pope, veteran employee of the State Auditor’s Office, has been named Chief of Staff by newly elected State Auditor Stacey Pickering

“Bill is a veteran of the Auditor’s office and state government. His experience and knowledge of the inner-workings of this office make him a valuable asset to the staff,” said Stacey Pickering. “His leadership within our office is very important to accomplishing the mission of the Office of the State Auditor.”

In addition to Bill’s service in the State Auditor’s Office, he also served as the Director of Mississippi State Parks under the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

Pope is a native of Starkville and a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor’s of Educational Psychology. Bill is a Certified Public Manager and has served as past president of Mississippi’s Certified Public Managers organization.
