Former Alcorn County Deputy Justice Court Clerk Arrested for Embezzlement

JACKSON, Miss. – Today, Special Agents from the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor arrested Jeanette Tullis for embezzlement. She was also issued a demand for $4,140.00, which includes principal, investigative costs, and interest.

Tullis is a former Alcorn County Deputy Justice Court Clerk. She began her employment at the Justice Clerk’s office in January 2002 and has since resigned.

State Auditor Stacey Pickering said, “While it is unfortunate that she has betrayed the trust of her community, hopefully, this money will be repaid to the citizens of Alcorn County quickly.”

Tullis was released from custody after paying $10,000 bond.
