Auditor Speaks at Graduation of MS Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy

JACKSON- State Auditor Stacey Pickering addressed 68 graduates in the Class #222 at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy on Thursday, June 19.

Hundreds of family members, friends and law enforcement officers gathered at the Training Academy in Pearl to celebrate the conclusion of a 10-week, intensive program preparing these officers for work at local police and sheriff offices as well as college campus police, Mississippi Department of Transportation and Mississippi Gaming Commission.

“When you finish here and return to your community, you are no longer an ordinary citizen. You are a leader,” said State Auditor Stacey Pickering. “You will not be looked at the same and more will be expected of you by your community. Take the challenge and develop your skills as a leader.”

The moto of Class #222 is “If not us, then who?” Class leaders include Thomas Cronin, 1st Platoon Leader; Kendall Brown, 2nd Platoon Leader; and Brice Cole, Company Commander.
