JACKSON- After thorough investigation, State Auditor Stacey Pickering has issued a demand to Hazeltine Woods-Fouche, Ph.D., former employee of Coahoma Community College, in the amount of $57,805.46.

This sum represents funds embezzled from Coahoma Community College for unauthorized fees and travel expenses between June 2002 and October 2003 along with interest and the cost of recovery.

“In cases of embezzlement, the State Auditor’s Office aggressively works to recover these funds. In this case, the funds will be returned to the Coahoma Community College for their use and benefit,” said State Auditor Stacey Pickering.

She has 30 days to pay the amount in full to avoid pursuit of civil recovery by the Attorney General’s Office. Woods-Fouche received $36,432.52 in unauthorized travel reimbursement. Interest is calculated from the date of the loss and totals $16,937.26. Cost of recovery, which includes the State Auditor’s investigative fees, totals $4,435.68.
