Q What procedure should be followed if a board member asks for copies of bank statements to compare with the claims docket and financial statement?

A An alderman is entitled to access to any records or information which is necessary in carrying out the duties of alderman. As such, if an alderman requests copies of the town’s bank statements in order to perform the duties of the office, the statements should be provided to the alderman in a timely fashion.
