Q Is there a way for a municipality to declare a piece of property as dangerous to the public and clean it?

A The method in which a municipality may clean private property that has become a menace to the public health and safety of the community is found at Section 21-19-11. This Section has specific notice and hearing requirements, and authorizes the governing authority to assess the actual cost of cleaning the property plus a penalty as a civil debt against the property owner or an assessment against the property.
