Default Law Allowing Constables to Serve as Baliffs

Has the law allowing constables to be paid a special fee for serving as bailiff for justice court criminal cases been repealed?

Default Constables May be Paid to Serve as Baliffs

Yes. Section 19-19-8 stands repealed as of January 1, 2009. This means the constable´s Section 19-19-7 duty to attend the justice court and execute judgments in criminal cases is without bailiff compensation.
