Q May a mayor or alderman be asked to leave during executive session when that person is the subject of executive session and there is a possibility of an ethics investigation?

A A mayor/alderman may be removed from executive session in which the subject matter of the executive session is to discuss litigation that has been filed against the municipality by the mayor/alderman. There is no authority to remove a mayor/alderman from an executive session for the purpose of discussing an ethics investigation concerning the mayor/alderman.
