Q Is a community college required to pay a daily jail fee for housing individuals in the county jail who have been arrested by the community college police department?

A No. A community college is not required to pay a daily jail fee to the county for housing individuals who have been arrested by a community college’s campus police. Individuals arrested by campus police are considered county prisoners and the county is thereby responsible for all costs related to their incarceration.
