Q May a governing authority be allowed to pay for an e-mail account and/or one internet account for board members?

A A governing authority cannot purchase an e-mail account and/or internet account for board members unless the board finds that such purchases are necessary for the performance of their duties. Such findings must be consistent with fact and spread on the minutes. Although broad authority is given regarding the board’s powers and duties, the board must base such purchases on the findings that doing so would be necessary to conduct public business.
