Q May a constable use his constable car when on duty as a municipal police officer?

A A municipal police officer, including a constable, may not use a personal vehicle if a municipal police vehicle is available. The municipal governing authority must make a finding on its minutes that the use of a personal vehicle is necessary before a police officer, including a constable, may use a personal vehicle to carryout his or her law enforcement duties for the municipality.
