Q May a city convention and visitors bureau offer monetary rebates to various profit or non-profit entities for booking motel rooms in the city?
A No. Offering monetary rebates to profit and non-profit entities for booking motel rooms within the city would constitute an impermissible donation. (Attorney General’s Opinion to Collins dated June 26, 2009)
