Q May a vice president of a community college (effectively the second-in-command at the college) also serve on a municipal board of aldermen?

A No. As the duties clearly involve substantial managerial and policy issues, the individual exercises powers at the core of the executive branch. The person may not simultaneously exercise powers at the core of the legislative branch (board of aldermen). (Attorney Generalís Opinion to Wiggins, August 30, 2013)
