Q May a supervisor serve as an uncompensated member of an airport board which merely serves in an advisory capacity to the board of supervisors?

A Yes. The supervisor will not have a direct or indirect interest in any contract if the supervisor serves as an uncompensated member of the airport board, and no violation of Section 109, Miss. Const. of 1890, or Section 25-4-105(2) of the Miss. Code should occur. Furthermore, voluntary, uncompensated service on the airport board does not make the supervisor a contractor, subcontractor or vendor to the county, and no violation of Section 25-4-105(3)(a) will result.
