Q When a municipal school district comes out from under state conservatorship, who hires the new superintendent, the newly-formed school board or the city council?

A The newly-formed school board appoints the superintendent of the reconstituted municipal separate school district. There is no authority for the municipal governing authorities to exercise any legal authority over the general operation of a municipal separate school district.
