State Auditor Stacey Pickering is President of National State Auditors Association

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Stacey E. Pickering, Mississippi State Auditor, was named president of the National State Auditor’s Association (NSAA) on Thursday, June 15, after being elected by members of the organization, succeeding Stephen Eells, State Auditor of New Jersey.

Members of NSAA are state auditors, elected or appointed, having external financial and/or performance post audit responsibilities on a state-wide basis, or their designated representatives who are dues paying members of the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers, and Treasurers (NASACT). Members of NASACT include all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and US Territories.

As part of this role, Pickering brings the 2018 NSAA Conference to Biloxi, MS, next June. “I am excited to showcase Mississippi, ‘The Hospitality State’, to members of NSAA across the nation,” said Pickering of the upcoming conference.

Previously, the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor the Southwest/Southeastern Intergovernmental Audit Forums/ Joint Meeting was held in Biloxi in September 2013. Stacey Pickering continues to be an ambassador for our state to elected officials throughout the United States.
