State Auditor Returns Over $54,000 To City of Indianola

JACKSON- State Auditor Stacey Pickering presented a $54,778.38 check to the City of Indianola today following an investigation into former Municipal Court Deputy Clerk Tina Parker’s misuse of public funds.

The Auditor’s Office found that Parker embezzled $51,244.33 from the Municipal Court of Indianola.

“Investigators found funds collected by Ms. Parker were deleted from the computer system, and not deposited,” State Auditor Stacey Pickering said. “I am pleased to be able to return this money to the taxpayers of Indianola.”

Parker resigned on June 28, 2010. On February 11, 2013 Parker received a seven year non-adjudicated sentence, which includes five years Supervised Probation and two years Unsupervised Probation.
