State Auditor Stacey Pickering and Jackson County District Attorney Tony Lawrence announced yesterday that former State Senator Tommy Robertson has been indicted on five counts of embezzlement.
Robertson is accused of using his position as attorney for the Signing River Federal Credit Union to embezzle $484,092 of loan proceeds which he held in trust for the purpose of distributing the funds in accordance with the applicable loan statements.
