JACKSON- State Auditor Stacey Pickering announced today that Yvette Yeager, a former employee of the Greenville Parks and Recreation Department, has been sentenced to ten years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Yeager previously plead guilty to one count of embezzlement on October 1, 2014.

Yeager’s sentence will be carried out as follows: two years in the intensive supervised probation and eight years suspended with five years’ supervised probation.

Over a five year period from October 2007 through September 2012, Yeager is charged with embezzling $85,155.65 from the City of Greenville. As the Parks Commission Director, Yeager was responsible for receiving and depositing revenue generated by Parks and Recreation. This included Greenville’s public golf course where she recorded approximately 182 fraudulent receipts for cash and checks.

“Ms. Yeager stole from the taxpayers of Greenville, and is being held accountable to her actions,” Auditor Pickering said.

Yeager had been employed with the Greenville Parks and Recreation Department since 1997.
